The most recommended dose for GABA is 250 mg to 500 mg three times daily. This is a common dose for the treatment of chronic pain or to avoid cramps. If a single dose of GABA is taken, it should not 750mg.If specialist advice then, only then should you increase your dose, not otherwise.
GABA is an established Recommended Daily Allowance or RDA, but specific doses for typical diseases listed below.
Recommended dose GABA
- Epilepsy, GABA 250 mg to 500 mg three times daily.
- Fibromyalgia, and 250 mg to 500 mg GABA three times daily or as recommended by the physician.
- Insomnia, it is up to 500 mg to 1000 mg GABA taken at bedtime.
- Stress, up to 250 mg three times daily or 750 mg once daily of GABA
- Tobacco dependence, three times 250 mg daily or 750 mg of GABA taken at night before bedtime.
These are general doses for adults. It may vary with the intensity of the disease. A doctor will guide you through it. GABA should always be taken on an empty stomach, preferably at night. It can cause mild drowsiness.
GABA helps children suffering from ADHD. The dosage, in case of the children depends on their body weight and age. Usually ½ to one capsule up to a maximum of six capsules to be taken, depending on age and body weight one hour before breakfast, afternoon and one hour before bedtime.
GABA is available in the form of powders, tablets and capsules. Capsules are often opened and mixed with juice or water, making it easy ingestion.GABA are also in the form of sublingual tablets, which are usually placed on where tongue and left until it is resolved.
